Theres a questuon mark in the tray on my pc?

its blinking from a cross to a question mark,when i clik onit it goes to 1 off those antivirus free scan things.ive bin using avast antie virus for a while and my pc has been running gr8,but recently iv done a scan and it said i had a trojan and my antie virus software woz infected?? ive gone to remove or change programms but theres nowt there please help
